The Board votes on all land use decisions after receiving recommendations from the Township’s Planning Commission ("Planning Commission").Ħ. ![]() ("Board") consisting of a Supervisor, a Township Clerk, the Township Treasurer, and four trustees.ĥ. Defendant Pittsfield Charter Township ("Pittsfield," "Pittsfield Township," or "the Township") is governed by a seven-person Board of TrusteesĢ:15-cv-13779-DPH-DRG Doc # 1 Filed 10/26/15 Pg 1 of 18 Pg ID 1 2 § 1391(b) because the claims alleged herein arose in the Eastern District of Michigan.Ĥ. This Court has jurisdiction over this action pursuant to 42 U.S.C. ![]() This action is brought by the United States to enforce the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act of 2000, 42 U.S.C. The township tends to be ahead of the curve environmentally and already offers a rain garden program, million-dollar Greenway for non-motorized vehicles, new parks, an ordinance to protect CSA's and another to prevent fertilizer runoff into waterways, single-stream recycling, and plans for increased density rather than sprawl.Plaintiff, the United States of America, alleges:ġ. * Mandy Grewal serves as the Pittsfield Township Supervisor. * The 540-panel, 150 kW system the Township is considering comes with a $635,000 price tag, but it would offset the township hall's energy usage by 70 percent and pay itself off in around 12 years. * Pittsfield Township is planning to install a massive solar-powered canopy that will be the first of its kind in Michigan, and it will also provide shelter for the popular farmer's market and offer additional covered parking.
